Booking in a training-based program can raise questions—and that’s a good thing. We’ve gathered the most common ones to help you decide if The Lab is the right fit for your next hair experience—or your career.

We protect our stylists’ learning space—and that means finding the right guests, not just any guests. We’re just as protective of your experience, too.
Q • Who is The Lab for?
A • The Lab is a great fit if you:
• Support new talent and love a good glow-up
• Appreciate great hair and a great value
• Don’t mind a little extra time for a lot of extra care
• Like being part of someone’s growth story
You get the full Davanti experience—just with rising artists instead of seasoned pros.
Q • Who is The Lab NOT for?
A • If you’re super specific, in a hurry, or expect perfection on the first try, The Lab may not be your spot.
We recommend booking with a Level 3+ stylist if:
• You’ve had a string of bad salon experiences
• You know exactly how your hair has to look
• You want quick timing over process
Q • Why is The Lab set-up this way?
A • Because real growth takes real support. The Lab isn’t about getting by on a budget—it’s about building artists who do beautiful, intentional work.
We only match guests with The Lab when we believe it’s the right fit—for everyone in the room.

The Lab is by request only—because curated learning deserves curated matches.
Q • Can I book online?
A • Yes, to ensure the best experience, Lab services are best booked by phone, Our Guest Concierge team can match you with the right stylist based on your goals, timing, and service type. Online booking is limited. Trust us, every great experience in The Lab starts with a conversation.
Q • How do I request a Lab stylist?
A • When calling or texting the salon, just let us know you’re interested in The Lab. Guest Care will walk you through what’s available and who’s currently taking guests.
Head’s Up: New guests in The Lab are required to have a consultation separately from the service.
Q • Can I book with a specific stylist in The Lab?
A • In most cases, yes! If you were referred by a stylist, we’ll do our best to honor that. If your preferred Lab stylist is fully booked or not ready for your requested service, we’ll recommend someone else—or guide you to a Level 3+ stylist if that’s a better fit.
Q • What if I’m not sure which level I need?
A • No problem! Our Guest Care team is trained to guide you. If your needs, hair goals, or timing require more advanced skill or faster pace, we may recommend starting with a Level 3+ stylist. It’s not a no—it’s just the better match.
Redo’s in The Lab— FAQ’s
Growth comes from doing it again—and doing it better. That’s why Lab stylists handle their own redos whenever possible, and when they need backup, we’ve got them.
Q • What if I don’t love my results?
A • We want you to feel confident and cared for—and we understand that learning environments require a little more flexibility. Redos are always welcome when approached with kindness and within our guidelines.
Q • What’s the redo policy for The Lab?
A • Redos must be requested within 3 days of the original appointment.
They are performed on Tuesdays between 9am–11am during our dedicated Lab education time.
Whenever possible, the original Lab stylist will perform the redo—this is part of their growth and technical development.
In certain cases, a mentor or educator may step in—but only during education time.
Redos are always complimentary when booked within the timeline.
Q • What if my hair needs more than a small fix?
A • While we work hard to get it right the first time, adjustments may be part of the process when booking in a learning environment—and that’s something we ask every Lab guest to understand and accept up front.
If your service needs a major correction, technical pivot, or something outside your stylist’s current training, one of our Lab facilitators or educators will step in to take the reins. The Lab stylist will be present to observe the correction.
Every redo is an opportunity—for the stylist to learn, and for us to make things right in a way that protects your experience and supports their growth.
Q • Will I be turned away for a redo?
A • It’s extremely rare—but if your request falls outside the 3-day request window and/or you are unavailable during our education block, we may not be able to accommodate it within The Lab. If that happens, we will offer you solutions with other stylists at appropriate levels and timelines.

Q • Will Lab appointments take longer than usual?
A • Yes—and that’s by design. Our stylists are working on technical consistency, timing, and flow. Every service includes full consultation, rituals, and styling—so you’ll receive our full guest experience, just with more time and intention.
Q • What’s included in a Lab appointment?
A • Every appointment is intentionally crafted to include a full consultation with visual references and a price quote. Your choice of beverage, Aveda aroma and rituals, a scalp massage and hand massage at the bowl, expert styling with product recommendations, and a supportive, no-rush environment—so you can relax and experience the Davanti Difference at its finest.
All services are performed by licensed stylists under the guidance of experienced educators.

This isn’t a discount—it’s an investment. You’ll pay less because they’re learning, not because we’re cutting corners.
Q • Are Lab services discounted?
A • No. The Lab has its own price structure based on stylist level and service type. Pricing is lower inside The Lab because Lab artists are still refining timing and technique—but the value is in the experience, not a markdown.
All services are performed by licensed professionals using Aveda products and Davanti rituals.
Q • Do you accept tips for Lab services?
A • Yes! Gratuity is always appreciated and never expected. Your support—whether through kind words, rebooking, or tipping—means the world to our artists in training.
Q • Can I use a gift card or participate in promotions?
A • Yes. The Lab accepts salon-wide gift cards. Occasionally, we may run special add-on incentives (like complimentary treatments) to support appointment-building goals.
